CA Global: Power and Energy (Africa Positions) has a client that is in need of Mechanical Technicians (Power Generation Plant / HV Generator).

OVERVIEW
Our client is currently recruiting qualified Mechanical technicians for French and Portuguese speaking Countries throughout Africa. Fluency in English and French or English and Portuguese will be essential and non negotiable for these opportunities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic
• Minimum 5 years experience in power generation environment
• HV generator experience preferred
• Result orientated Mindset

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
• Carry out major component changes and repairs as required.
• Carry out health checks and fault diagnosis.
• Carry out trend analysis of component failures.
• Respond to oil sample diagnosis.
• Follow and comply with company QHSE standards and ensures that all personnel working with him adhere to the policies.
• Carries out site HSE audits.
• Able to report an accident in prescribed format.
• Proactively takes part in site improvement plans.
• Assist in the development of new employees including the provision of site induction.
• Liaison with the Supervisor for effective and efficient operation of mechanical equipment and may act on behalf of Supervisor during periods of absence.
• Maximize cost efficiencies and ensure availability of mechanical consumables on site with optimum inventory level.
